Twitter is expected to begin charging $20 PER MONTH for a Blue Checkmark
November 1, 2022The changes taking place in the Twitter blue subscription are evident with Elon Musk not wasting a lot of time as its owner while prices are expected to triple by next month.
Persons familiar with the situation as reported in The Verge say that if you wish to maintain your authenticity, you would have to pay $19.99 by subscribing to Twitter Blue at $4.99 monthly. However, if this price rise happens, it will only occur few months after Musk said that such a service is costly.
Musk appears to have internally imposed the date as a deadline for Twitter’s engineers to have completed designing the new blue membership by the first week of November. Otherwise, they get sacked, though assisted by Tesla’s hired consultants. The founder of the company, Elon Musk, has allegedly been putting in extra hours at night and on weekends just to make some changes to the system.
Expectedly, current Twitter Blue subscribers could feel that this would be a costly move for them. At this point, the membership has extended its features to ad-free articles, bookmarked folders, customised app icons, themes, navigation and top articles, readers, and undo tweets. However, it is not clear that all these will still be on offer in a slightly higher pricing range.
However, blue checkmark verification will be accessible without membership within a short period of time. They say that by March, all verified accounts on Twitter must pay for the blue check or lose it. How many individuals will be willing to spend $240 annually in order to keep it?
This surely attracted people’s attention to what might have been overlooked for the Twitter acquisition if it were not for this move by Elon Musk. Nevertheless, one gets the impression that the millionaire has just started his way off. Musk questioned this afternoon, “Bring back vine?"
